What was the inspiration for Sunday Wine Co. ?
After a career in corporate marketing and with a passion to do my own thing (plus a love for delicious wine!)…I decided to take the leap and launch my own business. I thought ‘Wouldn’t it be great to receive curated packs of wine or sparkling delivered to my door that matched my mood perfectly”. So I set about developing an offer that my friends and I would love to shop, something you can’t find everywhere….and Sunday Wine Co was born. And why the name? Because one of my favourite things is enjoying a wine with friends on a Sunday afternoon! It’s all about a simple selection that matches your mood – whether it’s enjoying movies on the couch during the week, the perfect Saturday night dinner party or having friends around for a casual Sunday catch up.
What has been your greatest challenge?
My biggest challenge is reaching a broad audience as a small business. Organic growth can be slow and challenging….but the journey has been so personally rewarding.
What’s the one thing you would advise women starting out in your industry or starting their own business?
My advice would be to think about all the talented friends and colleagues you have – and what individual strengths they possess. Then reach out and ask their advice.
I found my friends and colleagues so generous with their time, their expertise, their honesty and encouragement. You’ll be surprised and what you learn.
